What to expect when working with our birth doula team:
We meet you prenatally and visit postpartum, along with being with you during your birth. In the months leading up to your birth, your doula offers information and resources, tips and guidance, and emotional support. During labor, your doula arrives when you need them and helps with optimal fetal positioning, emotional support, encouragement of advocacy, and much more. Immediately after your baby is born, your doula can assist with lactation and newborn care. We do not take the position of your birthing companion, we support them as well; we encourage them to participate and help you advocate for yourself. All of our doulas are observant, compassionate, resourceful and attentive throughout.

Every birthing person deserves a doula
Having a doula brings expecting parents emotional, physical and mental support. Doulas might have varying preferences, skills and offerings. Doulas do not act as medical professionals in any way. Birth doulas are involved in the prenatal and birth time frame, while postpartum doulas are involved following birth and up to a couple of months after.

Did you know that virtual doula support is an option? Adding virtual doula support to any class or course is a way to extend the resource and have a go-to person to call any hours of the night for labor and birth support.
Whether your hospital doesn't allow doulas or you are out of Holistic Birth & Beyond's service area, there is a special package made just for these types of situations! We make sure the virtual doula support we offer is comprehensive, accessible, reliable, comforting and informative. I was on the fence in the beginning about whether I really needed a doula or not and once I decided to get an epidural I really wasn’t sure I needed the extra support as my original birth plan was to go unmedicated which is why I wanted the extra support to get me through the contractions. She offered tons of resources for any topics we were curious about and showed us ways that my husband could support me through some pain I was experiencing from the pregnancy. She took the time to build a rapport with both of us before the birth which made us both that much more comfortable that day.
